Launched in 2015, our Enfield Avenger II basses were created for the player that likes classic style bass aesthetics but wants a more modern edge and functionality, whilst benefiting from the versatility our Sims Super-Quad Pickups.

Overview
Our Avenger II basses were launched in 2015 and produced for the player that is fond of traditional style basses but is interested highly functional modernisations. The Avenger II has a faster take on the obviously traditional vibe due to it's streamlined body shape and 'easy access' heel contouring. Along with our incredibly versatile Super-Quad Pickup technology, slimmed headstock and five bolt stainless steel-to-brass machined anchor system, this is the perfect blend of tradition with modern engineering and feel.
Bodies are made from East Asian Mahogany as standard due to it's lightweight and resonant properties. We do however also offer custom timber options of Alder or Swamp Ash.
We have a choice of 6 different colours with a gloss finish included in our standard range. However, custom colours and finishes such as sunbursts or clear coats over Alder or Swamp Ash timbers are also available from our Spray Shop.
Choose between our traditional style 3-ply vinyl, pearloid or vintage 4-ply celluloid tortoiseshell pickguards. Other custom options can be arranged from our Custom Shop if desired.
Our standard models currently weigh around 3.5kg (7.7lb) - 4kg (8.8lb) for the 4 string, and 4.0kg (8.8lb) - 4.5kg (9.9lb) for the 5 string. However, for custom orders, weight can vary depending on the timbers chosen. All Enfield basses come equipped with standard gauge Elites Strings (45/65/85/105/135), unless requested otherwise.
Electronics
All Avenger II's are fitted with the amazingly versatile Sims Super-Quad pickup system, an adaptation of our Super-8 pickup. Connected to our renowned Tri-Logic switching system, get ready for a whole world of tonal capabilities as the Super-Quads are your new all inclusive tone generators.
We teamed up with Glockenklang preamps for their glass-like clarity and ease of use. We offer their 2 or 3 band active onboard preamps to further enhance the capabilities of the Super-Quad pickups. However, other preamps are available by request as a custom option.
The 2-band preamps are fitted as standard with side mounted skeleton jack sockets, the 3-band preamp requires a stacked Treble/Bass. Although these are active preamps, passive mode can be engaged by the push/pull volume knob to achieve more old-school tones.
Hardware
The Avenger II comes with custom prepared, USA made Hipshot bridge and machine heads in Black/Nickel or Black/Gold, depending on your preferred hardware finish. Our custom prepared USA made A style Hipshot bridges have a string spacing of 18mm (0.718") for the 4 string and 17.5mm (0.687") for the 5 string.
We use clover-leaf key Hipshot HB6 machine heads to give that classic look but with the advantages of modern design and engineering that Hipshot do so well. We also offer a custom prepared USA made Hipshot String X-tender (drop tuner) as an upgrade.
Neck Specifications
Avenger II necks are made of Hard Rock Maple and have a dual action truss rod with adjustment at the heel, making every kind of set up possible with any style of music and string gauge you choose to play.
With its vintage '64 Jazz back profile and clear satin silk feel, these necks are optimised for fast, fluid and comfortable playing. Gloss and alternative neck finishes are available by custom order if so desired.
Nut widths for our 4 string models are 38mm (1.496") and 5 strings are 47mm (1.850"), both with a depth of 21mm (0.827").
FRetboard
Our fretboards come in phenolic with front face and side edge Dot Markers fitted as standard. Maple, Ebony or Rosewood are also avaible as a custom option. Block inlays and custom designed inlays are available by specification. Fretboard LEDs are also a popular alternative to standard fret markers.
All Avenger II necks are fitted with 22 medium-jumbo frets, made out of 2.4mm (0.094") thick silver nickel, and custom made phenolic nuts are fitted as standard to ensure maximum sustain and balance across each string.
Our fretboards have a radius of 14" for the 4 string and 16" for 5 string models.
Headstock
As with most of the Avenger II spec, we keep the traditional vibe with a modernised evolution. These headstocks have a classic aesthetic but have been made slimmer with some fundamental but subtle curvature alterations for stylistic reasons and also, to ensure that it is infringement free.
Fitted with custom prepared USA made Hipshot HB6 tuners combining the very best in smooth, reliable longevity whilst keeping a nod to the traditional with Clover Leaf buttons.
